AMD to Substantially Increase Chip Supply in 2027 as AI Demand Surges
AMD CEO Lisa Su told reporters in Taipei on Tuesday that AMD plans to substantially increase chip supply in 2027. "We've been able to increase our supply as we've gone through 2026," Su said, adding the company would substantially increase supply next year. She said AMD is planning supply needs three to five years ahead and needs more advanced wafer capacity. Su met Foxconn in Taipei, was scheduled to meet TSMC, and is scheduled to travel to South Korea to meet Samsung and SK Hynix. AMD's Q2 Data Center revenue reached $6.7 billion, up 107% year over year, accounting for 58% of $11.5 billion in quarterly revenue. Citi raised its AMD price target to $800 from $575 and estimates CPU TAM could grow from $29 billion in 2025 to $300 billion by 2030.
