Zoos Plan Halloween Events Across US

Zoos in several U.S. communities are hosting Halloween events with family-friendly activities such as trick-or-treating, costumes, games, seasonal decorations, performances and animal encounters. John Ball Zoo’s Zoo Goes Boo runs across three weekends and is included with regular admission, while Buttonwood Park Zoo is celebrating the 25th year of Boo at the Zoo with activities throughout October. Mesker Park Zoo’s six-night event features live music, food trucks and an accessibility night, and Tucson’s Reid Park Zoo has planned a sensory-friendly evening with reduced noise and no flashing lights. Oklahoma City Zoo’s Haunt the Zoo adds a themed trail, costume parades and a non-food treat option for visitors with food allergies.
