Two Pueblo police officers injured in an Oct. 10 confrontation were struck by gunfire from fellow officers, the department said after an initial investigation. Officers had pursued Luis Antonio Morales to an apartment, where an exchange of gunfire occurred. Morales died at the scene. Officer Jonathon Woehler was shot in both legs and later released from the hospital. Officer Justin Ortiz suffered a graze wound to the ankle.
