San Jose Trainer Arrested Over Alleged Filmed Assault

San Jose police say Archbishop Mitty High School athletic trainer Kelvin Chiu, 31, was arrested in Fremont after a 16-year-old student reported that he sexually battered her while treating a sports injury and recorded the incident on his phone. Investigators say they found child sexual abuse material on his cellphone; he was arrested on suspicion of sexual battery, annoying or molesting a minor, and producing or possessing child sexual abuse material. The school says it is cooperating, placed Chiu on administrative leave after being notified, and has made counseling support available to students. Detectives believe there may be additional victims and are asking anyone with information to contact police.
