Man Fatally Shot Outside Sterling Heights Home

A man died after being found with a gunshot wound in the front yard of a home on Erdmann Road in Sterling Heights Monday evening. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police said a preliminary investigation indicates the wound may have been self-inflicted, but detectives are continuing to investigate, identify the man and notify his family. Authorities said there is no apparent threat to the public and are asking anyone with information to contact Sterling Heights police.
