Women’s Business Events Planned Across States
A new Maryland comptroller’s report finds that women launched 58% of the state’s new businesses since 2019, yet continue to face lower labor-force participation and wages than men and are less likely to own firms with employees. Across several states, organizations are promoting women’s economic opportunities through networking, career development and business resources. Women Connect’s 2026 conference in Tennessee will bring together business owners and professionals for speakers, networking and workshops, while a Seattle career fair will connect women and gender-expansive attendees with banking and finance opportunities, coaching and professional headshots. Dress for Success Seattle is also holding a fundraiser to support its career counseling and work-clothing services. In Greater Philadelphia, a credit union has highlighted fall conferences, leadership events and other resources for women entrepreneurs and professionals.
