Thousands Celebrate Homecoming at WVU, Morgan State

West Virginia University’s Homecoming brings generations of Mountaineers back to Morgantown for campus traditions and football, while former twirlers describe lasting ties to the band and university. The week includes a Friday parade and a Saturday game against Cincinnati, with alumni and students taking part in celebrations. University and city teams coordinate security, transportation, parking, street closures and cleanup to prepare campus and downtown for the crowds. Organizers say the event depends on cooperation between WVU and Morgantown and helps alumni reconnect with the community and traditions that make the university feel like home.
