Saints Owner Calls 1-4 Start Unacceptable
New Orleans Saints owner Gayle Benson called the team’s 1-4 start to the 2026 season unacceptable after three consecutive home losses. In rare public criticism, she said accountability starts with her and extends to coach Kellen Moore, general manager Mickey Loomis, the coaching staff and players. Benson called for better preparation, more consistent execution and corrections to mistakes costing the team games, but announced no specific changes or ultimatum. She singled out the loss to Atlanta during the 20th-anniversary celebration of the Saints’ return to the Superdome as especially disappointing, saying on-field performance—not words—must restore fans’ confidence.
