Kawhi Leonard Set to Start in Raptors Return

Kawhi Leonard is set to start for the Toronto Raptors in Tuesday’s preseason game against the New York Knicks, his first appearance for Toronto since rejoining the team. The Raptors have gradually increased his workload after a cautious offseason, and Leonard said he feels good as he learns the team’s systems and gets acquainted with his teammates and coaches. The 35-year-old is coming off a season with the Los Angeles Clippers in which he averaged 27.9 points per game and earned All-NBA Second Team honors. Leonard led Toronto to its first NBA championship in 2019, and his health and fit alongside Scottie Barnes will be key questions for the Raptors this season.
