Canadiens Trade Struble to Predators for 2027 Pick
The Montreal Canadiens traded 25-year-old defenseman Jayden Struble to the Nashville Predators for a second-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft that was originally owned by Vegas. Nashville said Struble’s physical play and mobility will strengthen its defense. He has seven goals and 28 assists in 174 regular-season games with Montreal, including 12 points in 59 games last season, and had no points in three appearances this season. Struble is in the second year of a two-year contract with a $1.4125 million annual cap hit. His departure could open playing time for Montreal prospects Adam Engstrom or David Reinbacher, while leaving the Canadiens with fewer defensive options.
