Brewers Eliminate Padres After Mitchell’s Catch

Brewers center fielder Garrett Mitchell robbed Manny Machado of a potential game-tying home run in the eighth inning of Milwaukee’s 3-1 win over the Padres in NLDS Game 4. With Fernando Tatis Jr. aboard and San Diego trailing by two, Machado’s drive to right-center looked destined to clear the wall before Mitchell reached over the fence and caught it, preserving Milwaukee’s lead in the elimination game. The Brewers closed out the win and advanced to the National League Championship Series against the Dodgers.
