Yankees linked to multiple roster targets

The Yankees face several potential roster holes and are weighing trades and free-agent additions, with reported past interest in Nationals center fielder Jacob Young, whose elite defense and speed offset a below-average bat. Brandon Lowe and Tyrone Taylor are floated as options at second base and in center field if Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Trent Grisham depart. In the bullpen, Milwaukee left-hander JoJo Romero is presented as a possible upgrade, particularly given uncertainty around several Yankees relievers entering free agency. At third base, Miami’s Javier Sanoja is suggested as a younger trade target who could improve on Ryan McMahon’s weak 2026 offense, though acquiring a young, productive player could cost significant prospects.
