Browns Weigh Sanders Future, Eye Khalil Mack

The Browns’ 3-1 start and Deshaun Watson’s strong play have left Shedeur Sanders with little opportunity, while Dillon Gabriel’s expected return could force Cleveland to reconsider its crowded quarterback room. Reports conflict: some commentators and analysts have suggested Sanders could be traded, but Browns reporter Daryl Ruiter said the team wants to keep developing him, and Mary Kay Cabot reported Cleveland is not planning to trade Sanders or Gabriel. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler said the Browns could consider a deal for either quarterback if they receive the right offer, so a trade remains possible but is not confirmed. Separately, Cleveland could pursue Chargers edge rusher Khalil Mack, who has three sacks in four games and could be available as Los Angeles struggles.
