Jeremiah Smith Sets Three Ohio State Receiving Records
Ohio State junior Jeremiah Smith set program career records for receiving touchdowns and receptions against Iowa, catching his 36th touchdown to pass Chris Olave and his 206th pass to move beyond Emeka Egbuka. By the end of the third quarter, Smith had 3,363 receiving yards, also the school career record, and had already surpassed 3,000 yards earlier this season. The record-breaking performance extended a remarkable season that has put Smith in the Heisman conversation; he is also closing in on the Big Ten career touchdown record, needing three more to match Michigan’s Braylon Edwards.
