Iowa State Singletary Taken Off Field on Backboard

Iowa State cornerback Jaheim Singletary was injured in the first quarter of the Cyclones' game against Bowling Green on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames. He collided with teammate linebacker Willie Breland III while both chased the play as Bowling Green quarterback Jay Kastantin completed a 59-yard touchdown pass to Winn Sharp that tied the score at 7-7. Breland was not injured. Athletic trainers and EMS staff treated Singletary on the field, then placed him on a backboard and took him off by cart. There was no immediate official word on his condition. The Des Moines Register reported he was transported to Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames; ESPNU broadcasters said midway through the third quarter that he remained at the hospital and gave no additional information. During the delay, players from both teams knelt. Bowling Green coach Eddie George patted Iowa State coach Jimmy Rogers on the shoulder as they stood together, and Iowa State players gathered around the cart before huddling at midfield as the game resumed. Outlets did not dispute the collision, treatment, or cart sequence; no rated right-leaning coverage was in the record.

Whose framing of this story rings truest to you?
Iowa State secondary is already thin so this injury could hurt them down the line.
Breland must feel awful knowing he collided with his own teammate on that play.
Hope Singletary comes out of this okay after getting taken off on the backboard.
