Jackie Young Ties WNBA Quarter-Scoring Record as Aces Rout Storm
Jackie Young scored a career-high 35 points, including 22 in the first quarter, tying the WNBA record for points in a quarter as the Las Vegas Aces routed the Seattle Storm 114-77. A’ja Wilson added 29 points and set the league record for free throws made in a single season, surpassing Jewell Loyd’s previous mark. The Aces shot 58% from the field and improved to 28-13 after returning from a 19-day FIBA World Cup break, strengthening their position near the top of the standings. Flau’jae Johnson led Seattle with 25 points, but the Storm fell to 8-33 and have lost five of their past six games.
