Short Interest Rises Across Four Stocks, Up 105%-366%

Short interest rose sharply in September across several small-cap stocks, though the degree of potential pressure varied. Laramide Resources’ short interest climbed 105.5% to about 5.23 million shares, with an unusually high 173.6 days to cover. MIRA Pharmaceuticals’ short interest increased 118.1% to roughly 448,000 shares, while Universe Pharmaceuticals’ rose 154.7% to about 75,800 shares; both had days-to-cover ratios of just 0.1. VIDA Global recorded the steepest percentage increase, up 365.7% to 49,358 shares, but short positions represented only 0.3% of its stock and its days-to-cover ratio was 0.2. The companies operate in uranium development, clinical-stage pharmaceuticals, Chinese healthcare products, and business-focused AI, respectively.
