Kings rally from two-goal deficit before losing to Sharks in overtime
Igor Chernyshov scored twice, including the overtime winner with 1:42 remaining, as the San Jose Sharks beat the Los Angeles Kings 5-4 at SAP Center. Chernyshov beat Anton Forsberg on a one-timer set up by Macklin Celebrini, who recorded his fifth assist in two games. The Kings rallied from a two-goal third-period deficit to tie the score and controlled play for most of overtime before the Sharks finished it. Yaroslav Askarov made 31 saves on 35 shots. Tyler Toffoli, Kiefer Sherwood and Nolan Allan also scored for San Jose, and rookie Ivar Stenberg earned his first NHL point on a power-play assist to Toffoli. The Sharks have back-to-back overtime wins to open the season. The Kings fell to 0-2. Askarov has allowed seven goals on 61 shots this season, four in the third period. No contested claims found in record. The Sharks next visit Dallas on Monday and St. Louis on Thursday.
