Crew-12 Returns Safely to Earth

NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway, ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot and Russian cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev returned safely to Earth aboard a SpaceX Dragon, splashing down in the Pacific off Southern California after 237 days on the International Space Station. Their return was delayed three weeks while repairs were made to their replacements’ spacecraft. The crew had arrived in February after four previous astronauts were brought home early when NASA astronaut Mike Fincke fell ill, prompting NASA’s first medical evacuation in 65 years of human spaceflight. During their mission, they conducted scientific research and station maintenance; Meir completed four spacewalks and Adenot completed three. Crew-13 had taken over operations aboard the station.
