Princess of Wales shakes every hand outside Pulborough hall, FaceTimes a poorly mother

The Princess of Wales left Pulborough Village Hall in West Sussex and met the small group of locals who had gathered outside after word spread she was there.
She shook every hand in the small crowd. She FaceTimed a poorly mother, helped a toddler jump and cooed over a dog. Rebecca English shared that on X, where the post has 6,156 likes.
She had been inside at the weekly Wednesday lunch club overlooking Pulborough Brooks, sitting and talking with Marian Graves, 85, and Linda Stanford, 76.
Marian Graves called it an "Absolutely marvellous privilege." She said, "She's so natural, it was just lovely to have her here. We weren't told who it was going to be!"
Linda Stanford described her as a "lovely person, friendly... and very approachable."
Lynda Jones, 75, who recently moved from Cumbria, also sat with her and called it a "lovely surprise." The Princess bonded with Lynda Jones over their shared love of salty crisps.
The visit was covered on 30 September 2026.
