Gaetz, Two Others Accused in Sex-Trafficking Suit
Two women, Jane Doe 1 and Jane Doe 2, filed a federal civil lawsuit in the Middle District of Florida against Matt Gaetz, Joel Greenberg and Christopher Dorworth alleging sex trafficking from 2017 to 2019. The complaint says the women were 20 and 22, were recruited via SeekingArrangement.com, and that payments, drugs and travel to Miami, Las Vegas, the Florida Keys, New York City were used. It alleges Gaetz gave Jane Doe 1 $6,000 and Jane Doe 2 more than $4,000, with memos including Being my friend, car deductible and Love you. Dorworth allegedly hosted a Heathrow home gathering; businesses tied to Greenberg parents allegedly helped fund it. Gaetz said much of the alleged conduct is false and he looks forward to plaintiffs depositions, saying the suit relies on a Congressional Committee report that did not allow him to confront accusers. He posted Jane Doe Strikes again! and said two adult women alleged sex trafficking to the Bahamas. Greenberg is serving 11 years after a 2021 guilty plea to six federal charges including sex trafficking of a minor. Fritz Scheller said he previously represented Greenberg in similar civil litigation and was surprised and troubled to see Greenberg parents and their entities named. CONTESTED: outlets reported the filing as Monday or Wednesday. The civil case is pending. Federal prosecutors previously declined to charge Gaetz.
