Oregon funds 516 affordable homes across seven cities, Maine opens 43-unit complex
South Portland has completed Landry Woods, a 43-unit affordable apartment building for adults 55 and older with incomes at or below 60% of area median income, expanding the Landry Village community. The South Portland Housing Authority plans to add 38 more apartments at Landry Heights, as the city faces high housing costs and limited availability. Separately, Oregon approved funding for 480 affordable rental homes and 36 homes for purchase across seven cities, including 25 homeownership units in Bend. The statewide investments include new and preserved housing for families, older adults and people with behavioral health needs, and the state approved the final available funding for a program supporting accessible, affordable homes for older residents.
