NFL Asks DHS to Remove Dawkins Border Video

The Department of Homeland Security posted a video montage of Philadelphia Eagles legend Brian Dawkins to X on Sept. 27, 2026. The montage showed Dawkins chanting "The time has come" before hard-hitting highlights and carried the caption "Our time has come." A separate image said "The Border Is Closed." The posts referred to a purported migrant caravan. DHS told Newsweek it was tracking about 600 people since they left San Pedro Sula, Honduras, on Sept. 20. Dawkins played for the Eagles from 1996 to 2008 and was known for his Weapon X entrance. Korn's "Blind" played in the background. The NFL asked DHS to take down the video, per Devon Henderson of The Athletic. DHS did not directly address whether it consulted Dawkins, the Eagles, or the NFL. Its statement said it is playing lockdown defense at the border and will use every Weapon at its disposal, from A to X, to keep Americans safe. No factual disputes appear in the record. Dawkins, the Eagles, and DHS had not responded to comment requests as of publication. Earlier official posts have mixed sports highlights with military imagery, including a March 6 White House post pairing NFL hits with drone strike footage.
