Kraken Expected to Face Capitals in Washington

Seattle visited Detroit on Oct. 9 as the Red Wings looked to build on a 5-3 win over Ottawa, while the Kraken arrived after a 6-2 loss to Vegas and began a five-game road trip. Detroit’s William Wallinder made his NHL debut against Ottawa, and coach Todd McLellan said the team was working to strengthen its defensive play amid changing defensive pairings. A historical Red Wings statistic noted the team had a 3-1-1 record in its fourth game when its first four games were all at home. Seattle was then scheduled to face Washington on Oct. 11, with a betting preview favoring the Capitals’ puck line, citing Washington’s steady defense and Seattle’s uneven results.
