Indianapolis Man Accused of Fatally Stabbing Parents

David White, 38, was arrested in Indianapolis after allegedly killing his 75-year-old mother and 80-year-old stepfather in an attack outside and inside their home. Witnesses told investigators he struck his stepfather’s neck with a shovel and continued the attack with a kitchen knife; authorities said his mother was found dead near garden shears. White was preliminarily charged with murder, with formal charges pending, and reportedly surrendered to police without incident. Police had previously responded to the home over mental health concerns, prompting local officials to call for closer attention to support for people and families facing serious mental health challenges.
