I-10 widening begins on 11-mile Arizona stretch
The Arizona Department of Transportation has begun the third segment of its 26-mile Interstate 10 Wild Horse Pass Corridor project, covering 11 miles between Loop 202 and the Gila River south of Phoenix. Crews will add a third general-purpose lane in each direction and an HOV lane between Loop 202 and Riggs Road, rebuild three interchanges, and construct a new interchange at Koli Road. The project’s earlier segments include replacement of the I-10 bridges over the Gila River and widening between Gas Line Road and near Casa Grande; a fourth segment is also planned. The overall project is intended to ease congestion and shorten travel times between Phoenix and Casa Grande, with completion expected by late 2029.
