FBI Adds Alleged $10M Fraudster to Wanted List

The FBI has added 29-year-old Imer Gomez to its Most Wanted Fraudsters list and is offering up to $150,000 for information leading to his location, arrest and conviction. Authorities allege Gomez raised about $10 million from more than 400 investors, many in the San Antonio area, by promising high returns, showing fabricated account statements and claiming funds were invested when they were not. Investigators say money instead went to earlier investors, personal expenses and other uses, and that referral bonuses helped draw in new clients. Gomez was indicted on a federal wire fraud charge in 2025, and the SEC has filed a separate civil case; both cases involve allegations, not a finding of guilt. The FBI believes Gomez may be in Mexico, possibly near Puerto Vallarta.
