Drag Race Songwriter Lucian Piane Dies at 46

Lucian Piane died at 46 on Monday, October 12, 2026, after a sedan struck him while he crossed San Fernando Road near West Harvard in Glendale, California, the Glendale Police Department said. The driver remained and called 911. Fire department crews pronounced him dead at the scene. Police called it a traffic accident with no drugs or alcohol involved. Medical examiner records list the death as occurring in the street; cause and manner are not yet determined. TMZ first reported the news. Piane carried no identification, only a citation, and was later identified. A Drag Race songwriter and producer from season 1 in 2009, Piane had spoken about substance use and mental health and wrote, "I am sorry to have hurt anyone along the way." Days before, he posted a video at a school about hearing a scream from the auditorium. A fan wrote, "People love you. Please get yourself some help, Lucian." Larry Flick said Piane was his friend, troubled and complicated, and that the way he left this life was tragic and brutal. David, who said he was close to him, recalled kindness and said people tried to help. No contested claims found in the record.
