Macklemore Announces ‘Free Palestine’ Tour

Macklemore announced a three-show “Free Palestine” tour in Dublin, Paris and London for late October, with proceeds going to organizations supporting Palestinians; additional performers and details are still being arranged, and more dates may follow. The announcement came after he was removed from Ed Sheeran’s U.S. tour following pro-Palestinian remarks at MetLife Stadium, with the promoter citing objections from venues. Sheeran said the removal was the promoter’s decision, and several other acts withdrew in solidarity with Macklemore. Macklemore is also scheduled to perform at Red Rocks in Colorado on October 22. Resale prices for Sheeran’s Massachusetts shows had fallen about 14 to 15 percent, while Red Rocks listings had risen, although approaching concert dates can affect resale prices.
