Dallas Police Say Suspect Fatally Shoots Himself

Dallas police say an armed man shot himself during an encounter Wednesday as officers attempted to serve felony warrants for narcotics and probation violations near a motel in Oak Cliff. Police used Flock camera technology to locate him; after officers approached, one officer fired, and the man remained armed and did not comply with repeated commands before shooting himself. No officers were injured. Reports say the suspect died, though one account said his condition was unknown; police have not named him, and the investigation is ongoing, with body-camera footage expected to be released.
