Craig Melvin Receives Inaugural Columbia Community Medal

Today co-host Craig Melvin received Columbia, South Carolina’s inaugural Ripples of Impact honor for his contributions to the community, prompting him to miss Thursday’s broadcast. The award was presented by Mayor Daniel Rickenmann, and Melvin said returning to his hometown and seeing people who helped shape him made the recognition especially meaningful. Back on the show Friday, he became emotional as co-host Dylan Dreyer praised his impact and his pride in representing South Carolina. Melvin also celebrated his fellow honorees, including basketball star A’ja Wilson and community members he had admired growing up.
