Día de Muertos Events Planned Across US
Communities in Michigan, Iowa and Nebraska are marking Día de los Muertos with exhibitions, workshops, performances and public gatherings that honor loved ones and share Mexican traditions. Clinton Township’s Lorenzo Cultural Center is presenting a photo exhibition on the holiday in southern Mexico, alongside films, a sugar-skull art workshop and other programming. In Sioux City, the Public Museum is displaying community-created ofrendas under the theme “Noche de Ofrendas” and hosting a free Nov. 1 celebration with music, dancing and activities, plus a Latin dance event; the museum is also offering a separate cemetery history tour. Omaha’s South 24th Street will host a community parade and ofrenda organized by local cultural and economic-development groups, welcoming residents and visitors to remember loved ones and experience the tradition.
