Burrow Sixth, Jennings Calls Goff NFL’s Best

Joe Burrow is sixth in Sports Illustrated’s latest NFL quarterback rankings, one spot below his preseason position, after throwing for 1,361 yards and 11 touchdowns through five games as Cincinnati enters its bye at 3-2. The ranking places Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Brock Purdy, Lamar Jackson and Jared Goff ahead of him, with Burrow’s durability cited as his main concern. Burrow helped the Bengals beat Miami with four touchdown passes, though he jammed a thumb during the game; Cincinnati also lost tight end Tanner Hudson for the season. Separately, former Packers receiver Greg Jennings argued that Goff deserves to be considered the league’s best quarterback, pointing to his 12 touchdown passes and zero interceptions through five games and Detroit’s historic early-season production.
