Blanche Meets Police on Logan’s Law
Attorney General Todd Blanche met with South Carolina officials and local law enforcement in North Charleston to discuss reducing violent crime and improving coordination across agencies. The roundtable also focused on “Logan’s Law,” proposed legislation named for Logan Federico, a 22-year-old killed in May 2025; the bill would establish a national database of violent offenders to help law enforcement track criminal records across jurisdictions. Federico’s father said gaps in record-keeping contributed to the killer receiving probation instead of prison for earlier offenses, and Blanche acknowledged the system’s failure. Blanche also cited declines in violent crime in South Carolina and Charleston. The visit came amid scrutiny of Blanche’s confirmation and Sen. Darline Graham’s vote to support him.
