New book gathers George Harrison's candid early Beatles photos
A new book, The Third Eye, gathers candid photographs George Harrison took during the Beatles’ early years, with his widow, Olivia Harrison, discussing the collection in an NPR interview. The band’s debut single, “Love Me Do,” was released in the U.K. on Oct. 5, 1962; although it peaked at No. 17 there, its later U.S. release reached No. 1 and began a record-setting run of chart-toppers. The Beatles are also seeking another U.K. album-chart No. 1 with Rubber Soul, which previously spent eight consecutive weeks at the top in 1965.
