Baby Stable After Kennewick Stroller Crash

A vehicle struck a stroller carrying a 1-year-old girl as her mother crossed at a crosswalk near West Metaline Avenue and North Kellogg Street in Kennewick. The child was taken to a hospital in stable condition with no life-threatening injuries; the mother was not injured. Police said the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated, and was cited for second-degree negligent driving after failing to see and yield to the pedestrians; officers said impairment and speed were not factors. After the investigation, officers used the department’s Community Care Fund to replace the family’s damaged stroller.
