Alker wins fourth Champions Tour title of season
New Zealand’s Steven Alker won the Jefferson Lehigh Valley Classic in Pennsylvania by one stroke over Tag Ridings, closing with a four-under 66 for his 14th PGA Tour Champions title. The victory was his fourth on the tour this season and his third in his last four starts; he has finished first or second in each of those four events. Alker rallied from a deficit to Michael Block, taking the lead with birdies and sealing the win with late birdies at Nos. 16 and 17. He also dealt with a back problem and the illness of longtime caddie Troy Martin, with 19-year-old local caddie Whyatt O’Rourke filling in. Alker remains third in the Charles Schwab Cup standings.
