Daniel Craig Skyfall suit heads 400-lot Bond memorabilia auction
In Skyfall's opening, Daniel Craig's Bond chases a villain across Istanbul rooftops and onto a moving train in a grey Tom Ford suit. That suit, with shirt, tie and cufflinks, heads Propstore's 400-lot online Bond memorabilia auction, estimated at £20,000-£40,000 ($27,000-$53,000). Bidding is open worldwide through October 27. Also at £20,000-£40,000 are Ana de Armas's Paloma dress and sandals from No Time to Die and a complete set of 14 leather-rebound Jonathan Cape first-edition Fleming Bond books. A Dr. No British quad poster is estimated at £8,000-£16,000 and an Octopussy SFX clapperboard at £4,000-£8,000. "Bond has meant something to generations of film fans, and I've loved curating this collection," said Alastair McCrea, Propstore's director of consignments. Reviewing the costumes, posters, books and production pieces "has been a wonderful reminder of how much there is to discover across the films," he said, with the house "excited to share the collection" as fans mark Bond Day. Chester-born Craig, who attended Wirral schools Hilbre High and Calday Grange, left the role after No Time to Die; Skyfall was his fourth Bond film.
