24 Arrested as Far-Right Protest Turns Violent in Hague

About 500 far-right protesters gathered at Malieveld park in The Hague on Sept. 19, 2026 for a Wij zijn het volk rally against government immigration policy. Demonstrators threw fireworks and other projectiles at riot police, chanted antisemitic slogans, and someone gave a Hitler salute. Mechanic Thijs Jansen, 31, told AFP: We're losing our country. We're literally losing our country to mass migration. Prime Minister Rob Jetten said demonstrators deliberately sought confrontation and chanted abhorrent far-right and antisemitic slogans. The unrest came a year after a more severe far-right riot in The Hague that included a police car set on fire and an attack on D66 party headquarters.
