Virginia beat Virginia Tech in four sets, 25-19, 25-19, 22-25, 25-23, ending a five-match skid while extending its winning streak over the Hokies to nine. Tech claimed the third set and rallied late in the fourth, but Virginia held on to close out the Commonwealth Clash match.

The Virginia Cavaliers, nicknamed the Wahoos, are the athletic teams representing the University of Virginia, located in Charlottesville.
