About Party of Progress and Socialism
The Party of Progress and Socialism is a left-wing socialist political party in Morocco. It was founded in August 1974 by Ali Yata as the successor to the Party of Liberation and Socialism, itself the successor of the Moroccan Communist Party. The PPS emerged from the Moroccan communist movement but subsequently developed into a socialist and progressive party operating within Morocco's legal multiparty system.
