North Korea Fires Projectile Toward East Sea

North Korea launched an apparent short-range ballistic missile from the Wonsan area toward the East Sea, also known as the Sea of Japan, on Sunday, according to South Korean and Japanese authorities. The projectile fell outside Japan’s exclusive economic zone, and officials provided few immediate details about its trajectory or exact capabilities. It was North Korea’s second missile launch in roughly a week, following multiple short-range launches on September 12. Seoul condemned the firing as a violation of U.N.
