Wild's Nico Sturm Hospitalized After Puck Hits Head
Minnesota Wild forward Nico Sturm was taken to a hospital for precautionary evaluation after teammate Jared Spurgeon’s shot struck the side of his helmet during Monday’s game against the Vegas Golden Knights. Sturm was helped off the ice and ruled out for the rest of Minnesota’s 4-2 win; his status for the team’s next game was uncertain. The incident renewed concerns after defenseman Brock Faber suffered a skull fracture from a puck to the head during the preseason and remains out indefinitely. Minnesota is also managing several other injuries early in the season.
