Wenatchee Reports School Lead, Westporters Test Water
Routine water testing can identify microbial, chemical and physical hazards that may not be visible, and ongoing monitoring is important because conditions can change over time. In Wenatchee, school testing found elevated lead at some fixtures, especially in older buildings; the district replaced some faucets and removed or labeled other outlets, citing aging plumbing as a likely source. In Westport, two students screened water samples from more than 100 residents and found no concerning lead levels, while cautioning that any questionable result should be verified by a certified laboratory.
