Two Injured in Wichita House Fire, Including Firefighter

Two people, including a firefighter, were injured in a house fire Saturday night in southwest Wichita, in the 3100 block of South Mount Carmel Avenue. Firefighters found smoke and flames coming from the front of the home; a man inside was taken to the hospital in critical or extremely critical condition, while the firefighter sustained serious injuries. The fire was extinguished by about 10 p.m., and its cause is under investigation. A separate north Wichita house fire was reported, but it was not identified as the same incident.
