Vietnam Province Trains 200 for Children’s Disability Care
Several initiatives aim to address hardship by expanding practical support and opportunity. In Connecticut, Colored Hemisphere is fundraising to sustain crisis-prevention services—including baby formula, health screenings and domestic-violence intervention—and hopes to open a resource center in Waterbury. In Rhode Island, Farm Fresh RI’s Hope’s Harvest recovers surplus produce from farms and farmers markets for local food pantries. A provincial program in Vietnam is also organizing screenings and medical care for children with disabilities, with trained local health workers identifying children who may need surgery, rehabilitation or assistive devices. Separately, an opinion essay argues that Arab societies should confront poverty, injustice and youth unemployment through a broader strategy focused on social development and opportunity.
