Hillary Clinton mocks Trump over Obama’s Nobel Prize
At a Nebraska Democratic event, Hillary Clinton recalled laughing at Michelle Obama’s Nobel mention and telling Barack she hoped Trump was watching.

A Hook Global YouTube video titled “Hillary Clinton Mocks Trump Over Obama’s Nobel Prize: “I Hope He’s Watching”” was published.
The channel’s description says Hillary Clinton took a sharp, sarcastic swipe at President Donald Trump while recalling a moment that involved former President Barack Obama and his Nobel Peace Prize. According to that description, she described bursting into laughter, turning to Obama and saying, “I really hope that Donald Trump is watching this,” and joked that Trump must feel as though he is in the “10th circle of hell.”
The Hill’s Tara Suter reported the same day that Clinton made the recollection at a Saturday event for the Nebraska Democratic Party in Omaha. HuffPost’s Lee Moran published a matching account on Oct. 12. Clinton, a former secretary of state, former first lady and the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee, sat for the exchange while discussing public life.
“I was at the opening of the Obama library, which I hope you all get to visit, and, you know, Bill and I were up there with the former presidents and first ladies and sitting behind, you know, Barack and Michelle and their daughters,” Clinton said, according to The Hill. She added: “So, when Michelle gave that very touching and clever speech about all the things that her husband had done that the other guy hasn’t, and when she got to, and then, you know, the Nobel Peace Prize, I just burst into laughter.”
“I thought it was so perfect,” she said, per The Hill and HuffPost. “And, so, Barack turns around and he kind of, you know, grins at me, and so I lean forward and I said, ‘I really hope that Donald Trump is watching this, and I really hope he heard that line. And, you know, I think he’s got to feel like he is, you know, in the 10th circle of hell or something because of this litany of everything you’ve done,’ and Barack goes, ‘Yeah, me too. I hope so.’”
The original scene was the June 18, 2026, opening of the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago. Michelle Obama, during that speech, listed her husband’s record. Newsweek quoted her saying: “You were doing the people's work, rescuing our economy, expanding health care, ending a war, ordering the bin Laden raid, saving an auto industry, winning a peace prize.” The Hill and HuffPost both report that the Nobel line drew applause and laughter, including from Clinton, who was seated behind the Obamas. Aaron Rupar posted video of the June moment on X that same day. Acyn posted video of Clinton’s October Omaha recollection on X on Oct. 10. Obama won the prize in 2009.
