Trump Seeks Help in Renaming ‘Artificial Intelligence’

President Donald Trump doesn’t think the name “artificial intelligence” is “inaccurate” and “very ineloquent” so he wants help in renaming it.

The president went on Truth Social Saturday with a few alternatives — Super Intelligence, Extreme Intelligence, and Supreme Intelligence.

“Many people think that the words ‘Artificial Intelligence’ are inaccurate, and very ineloquent, relative to AI, or Artificial Intelligence. A far more elegant and accurate description of this new phenomena would be Superior Intelligence (SI) or, Extreme Intelligence (EI) or, Supreme Intelligence (SI). This is a Poll, and I would appreciate everybody voting! Which is the best name for this ever growing ‘Revolution?'” Trump wrote.

It was back in 1955 when Stanford professor John McCarthy originated the term “artificial intelligence.”

It is not clear how Trump’s proposed name changes would be applied to a whole industry.

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei said AI needs to have more oversight, or rogue AI agents could “take over” the entire internet within 12 months.

Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon resigned and spoke of his fears about the industry, stating he believes the technology is advancing so rapidly that it could “kill us all” within 10 years.

Trump has called these fears about the technology a “hoax.”
