Trump Renews Claims Ossoff Election in Georgia Was Illegitimate

At a campaign rally in Dalton, Georgia, President Donald Trump attacked Sen. Jon Ossoff as he campaigned for Republican Senate candidate Mike Collins, criticizing Ossoff’s record and mocking his appearance and makeup. Trump blamed Ossoff’s immigration policies for the 2024 killing of a Georgia student and repeated claims that Ossoff’s election was illegitimate, including claims tied to Georgia’s disputed 2020 results. Ossoff’s campaign has held a polling lead over Collins, according to reports cited in the coverage. Protesters interrupted the rally, prompting Trump to suggest they might have been paid by Ossoff; one account focused on Trump’s response to the disruption. Trump also used the event to promote his administration’s record and discuss the Iran war, while dismissing concerns about rising living costs.
