The Minnesota Timberwolves enter a preseason game against the Miami Heat at 1-1. The same meeting doubles as an early look at their regular-season opener. Minnesota's new backcourt additions have provided the highlights so far; the bench has struggled. The game tests that backcourt against a Miami frontcourt led by Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo. Heat coach Erik Spoelstra has not committed to a full dress rehearsal. He may limit starters' minutes and give more time to reserves and players competing for roster spots. CONTESTED: none found. Next is the preseason tip itself and how Spoelstra actually divides minutes between starters and roster hopefuls.
